Some of you may or may not know, but I recently moved this last week. While the new place is great, albeit a little smaller or so it seems with less closets, I love the new place. It is newer and nicer. However, as I moved up three flights of stairs, with the help of my parents and sisters, I came to two conclusions. 1. I have way too many damn books, and 2. Books are heavy.Since I have no intention of reading less, I have decided that this is the year that I am going to invest in one of these new handy gadgets called e-readers.
However, I am also an indecisive person and so I need your help. Do I get the handy Kindle that so many people seem to adore or a Nook because you can buy one of them in color? Do you have either a Kindle or a Nook? What do you like/dislike about it?
Kasey,
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that you were able to move in without any problems, other than hauling tons of books, which sounds like me!!! :)
I'm here to add my two cents. My hubby bought me a KINDLE for Christmas. He did ask my preference but probably would have gotten the KINDLE anyway b/c it was cheaper.
I LOVE the KINDLE!!! And why would you need color to read anyway??!! :) It's light, holds a charge forever, holds A TON of books and it has NO GLARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A huge plus for me b/c that was the only thing, that, the price and the heaviness of the NOOK that I didn't care for.
There are even cool slipcovers you can get for them on AMAZON for cheap.
So I guess you know my preference now! The other thing that many people are complaining of is that the KINDLE doesn't show color or vids when you are on the internet. I say if you want it for that just buy you an IPAD or LAPTOP.
HUGS

I love my Nook. My sister has the new one that has color print so you can browse magazines and read children's books etc. She loves it. With the Nook, you can download books from your local library. Which is nice. I download from Barnes and Noble a lot as well. I can download any book though as long as I can get in in pdf format, just download it to computer and transfer it to NOOK. I do this with my WIP sometimes to take with me and read.
ReplyDeleteI know lots of people who have the Kindle. I honestly don't think you can go wrong.
The Nook you can read outside in the sun. I think the Kindle is NOW like that but not sure. If not, that is a big feature in my opinion.

Thanks Trish and Lisa! I think I am leaning towards a Kindle, but they both seem like great options. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a Sony Reader and I love it! I can put all types of formats of books on it and it's great for traveling even though I'd rather have an actual book in my hand. Plus, now I can read all the shorter digital stories that my friends publish. Good luck with your decision Kasey and glad the move went well!
