Fun Friday - Colin Firth

I have loved Colin Firth since I first saw him in What a Girl Wants. He was equally as good as Mr. Darcy in the Bridget Jones movies, if not more brillant. Then, I discovered that he didn't just play Mr. Darcy in the Bridget Jones movies, but he was Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy in the BBC versioin of Pride and Prejudice years earlier and I had just never seen it. I got my hands on a copy and it was amazing. I am sure I was whipping the drool on my sleeve during the scene where he is all wet wearing that see throw white shirt. He is in my favorite movie ever, Love Actually, as well. Not to mention he is a very versitale actor, he plays a wonderful father in the first Nanny McFee movie, does a bit of singing in Mamma Mia, is a painter in Girl with the Pearl Earring, and plays King George VI in The King's Speech. I could gush about him all day, but he is truly and amazing actor and hot to boot. So, enjoy the pics and share your Colin Firth movie (or movies)!

Full Name: Colin Andrew Firth

Age: 50

Height: 6 feet 1 1/2 inches

Quote: "I like playing strange characters. Some people might say it has something to do with a hidden part of myself, but I think it's a lot simpler than that: normal people are just not very interesting.

Big Break: He was discovered while playing Hamlet during his final term at the Drama Centre in Chalk Farm. They chose him to play the role of Bennet in the West End production of Another Country and he was later chosed to play another character, Judd, in the film version.

Playing Currenlty: The King's Speech (which there is Oscar buzz for a Best Actor nom)

Up Next
: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy with Gary Oldman and The Promised Land with Matthew Macfadyen (both Mr. Darcy's in one movie.....be still my beating heart). :)

  1. He was also great in Have You See Your Father? At least I think that was what it was called. it was a great movie about dysfunctionality (sorry - I don't even know if that's a word!) in families and how to deal with it when you don't closure before your parent dies. It's not as depressing as it sounds - very thought provoking!
